Resveratrol (3,5,4'-trihydroxy-trans-stilbene), is a stilbenoid, which is a type of natural phenol and phytoalexin produced naturally by plants in response to injury or when under attack by pathogens such as bacteria or fungi. The skin of blueberries, grapes, raspberries, and mulberries contain resveratrol.
